The Paper Variety Challenge #43

Another week, that means another fun challenge at The Paper Variety
You can have your pick... or you can even incorporate the two in your project.

Be sure to submit it by the evening of Sunday July 24th for a chance to be spotlighted on TPV blog and by Tuesday July 26th at noon EST to be in the drawing for an amazing prize sponsored by

I wish I could participate myself and be eligible to win since I am a long time fan of Paisleys and Polka Dots (even long before i had this blog!). Among other things, they offer amazing kits for double-page layouts (and mini albums as the prize seen above) and have often been great inspiration to me!

The first thing that came to mind when i read 'grid pattern' is plaid, and that made me think of a weave design that i had already seen on a layout at my LSS store. Inspired by that layout, I wove strips of paper to make the background of this double-page, and then a few flowers, brads, buttons and chipboard pieces later, VOILA!
In case you're wondering, i'm the one on the right with the cool cowboy boots and the Strawberry Shortcake dress! hehehe

Here are close-ups of the weave grid...

And close-ups of the other elements (Dusty Attic chipboard, misc. ribbon, flowers, brads and buttons)...

Now make sure to check The Paper Variety blog to see inspiring projects from my fellow DT members.  They all have made incredible work!
